Science Is Beatiful 2024

Science is not only about uncovering new principles, and not every glance through an instrument immediately leads to a discovery. But when scientific work is combined with an artistic perspective, an entirely new dimension emerges. The Science Is Beautiful competition, held for more than a decade, puts both of these approaches to the test – the originality of scientific observation and the visual impact of the captured moment.

I was fortunate enough to win third place in the Microphotography category with an image of two cladocerans representing evolutionary lineages that diverged long ago. Simply placing them side by side is enough to reveal just how differently evolution has shaped them.
